Something Fishy Soft Tacos

Who says not eating meat means you can't enjoy mexican food? This soft taco recipe is easy to make and easy to eat. Expect it to vanish within minutes!


12-15 small tortillas
3 fillets Dory fish
5 spices powder for seasoning
Chili powder for seasoning
Salt and pepper for seasoning
2 cups shredded cabbage
1 large red onion, sliced into strips
3/4 bar quickmelt cheese, grated
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup green onion, chopped


5 medium red tomatoes, sliced
1 large white onion, sliced
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium red bell pepper
1 medium green bell pepper
25 grams basil leaves
2 tsp cumin
2 tsp curry powder
Dash of salt and pepper

1. Preheat oven to 200-250 C.

2. Season the Dory with 5 spices, chili powder, salt and pepper.

3. Lay flat on a greased baking pan and bake for 20 minutes or until fish flakes.

4. Meanwhile, sauté the garlic in olive oil over medium heat. Add in the onion then add the tomatoes and bell peppers once the onion softens.

5. Stir consistently for about 3 minutes then add in the basil leaves, cumin, curry, salt and pepper.

6. Turn off the heat then transfer to a food processor and blitz for about 2 minutes. Set aside.

7. Check if the fish is cooked. If it has been 20 minutes, and fish is cooked, flake the fish using a fork then transfer to a bowl.

8. Heat a pan without oil then brown the tortillas on both sides. Do not toast the tortillas as this will make it difficult to fold.

9. Place tortillas on a plate or a shallow bowl. Arrange the soft taco filling at the center of the tortilla. You can do any order you want but this is how I did mine: cabbage, salsa, fish, cheese, red onion, sour cream, and green onion.

10. To eat the taco, simply take one side and then fold to the other end. The filling will spread as you fold the taco.
